About Tom
Tom is a musician, songwriter, and all-around “poet and don’t know it”, as his dad used to say. With Neptune on his ascendant and Pluto on his midheaven, he was always meant to help people see deeply into themselves and find a connection with meaning and purpose.
Tom walks with his feet on the ground and his head in the stars. He’s been an avid tai chi and qigong practitioner for over 20 years and is a licensed acupuncturist and bodyworker. His path into the healing arts and astrology began with a not-so-simple question – “If I’m supposed to be a triple Aries, then why am I so quiet, calm, and receptive!?” (...that's Neptune on the Asc, btw, and Venus in Pisces)
In college, he learned how to do reiki, practiced Tibetan Buddhist meditation, and earned a BFA in classical guitar from the NC School of the Arts. Then, wanting to connect with community and be of greater personal service, he began pursuing a healing arts career.
Tom worked as a home health aide as he went to post-graduate school studying acupuncture at the Jung Tao School of Classical Chinese Medicine, where he now teaches and supervises part-time in their busy student intern clinic. He also runs a private practice as part of a team of manual therapists, bodyworkers, and counselors at Alchemy Center for Healing Therapies in Boone, NC.
Here they teach others to cultivate their own healing wisdom through astrology consultations and personal wellness activities like tai chi, qigong, yoga, reflective astrology meditations, dietary wellness guidance, and also offer more medical modalities like manual therapy, lymph drainage massage, visceral manipulation, neuro-functional acupuncture and counseling services.

Translate
First, I’ll explain what we’re seeing in the reflection. What is the outline that characterizes the patterns you’ve stepped into in this life?
In this part, I’ll translate the Sun, Moon, and planets into recognizable aspects of you and confirm what resonates with who you know yourself to be.
Recognize
Next, I’ll go deeper into the background and foreground of the picture in the mirror. We’ll look at the terrain behind you – The characteristics and qualities of experiences that have brought you victories and perhaps given you some scars.
We’ll also characterize the foreground - what lies in front of you in untraveled territory. I’ll help you to be able to recognize your soul’s medicine in the experiences ahead of you.​​
